Oregon is the Beaver State for a reason. These native wetland animals were once nearly hunted to extinction but now flourish throughout the Pacific Northwest.

They build lodges and dams in streambeds, providing the benefits of enhanced water filtration and salmon habitat by slowing down the surface flow. Plus, they are pretty darn cute.

Stained glass mosaic on cement-board substrate, with two colors of grout. Approx. 8×12″ overall.
