Oregon Coast Mosaic Workshops featuring Visiting Instructors
Spend a weekend of beach time, learn new mosaic skills and make new friends! While you’re busy learning, family members can enjoy other fun activities in Lincoln City, like: searching for glass floats on the beach (made by local artists), antique shopping, surfing, whale watching, kite flying and crabbing/clamming. Garden Mosaic (Birdbath) Workshop
with visiting instructor Jennifer Kuhns
Sat-Sun, July 27 & 28 – 10am-5pm Sat, 10am-4pm Sun
Create vibrant, colorful mosaic art for the garden! This class will cover the basics for exterior and garden mosaics. Students will construct a small birdbath from a terracotta pot and base, and adhere glass mosaic in a radiating pattern.
This class is great for the beginner as we will be covering tools, cutting techniques, and mosaic design, and is also appropriate for the student who has already experimented with interior or craft mosaics and would like to expand their knowledge to include exterior, garden or permanent installations.

Making Waves mosaic workshop

Fri-Sun, September 6-8 – 10am-4pm
Using repeated shapes and flowing lines, the rhythm and strength of the wave is created. In this workshop, you can choose to cut the glass yourself, or used pre-cut (recycled!) glass to make your own wave. Rectangular or circular substrate. Perhaps you can feel this wave coming on now!
In this workshop, you can choose to cut the glass yourself, or used pre-cut glass (it’s recycled!) to make your own wave, using your own design or research online “mosaic wave.” Rectangular (see below, 12” x 18”) or circular (15”) substrate. Exterior-safe materials include base, glass tiles, mortar, and grout.

Create a Glass Mosaic Nightlight
In this fun short workshop, make a mosaic nightlight with stained glass. You’ll learn to safely cut glass and shape into your design, or use one of my templates. Leave your piece with me for grouting, and you can pick up the next day, or arrange for me to ship ($5 extra, paid on day of workshop).
$30 includes materials and use of tools for this project. Age 18+ please. Pre-registration required, 8 students max. each session.

Inspired by the Farmers’ Market
Sunday, June 2 – 9 am to 3 pm
Inspired by the opening of the season, we’ll explore the colors and textures of the farmers’ market just outside the doors of our studio to create a wall hanging (8×10) mosaic.

Tuesday Nights at the Cultural Center

In July and August, the Lincoln City Cultural Center will be featuring an evening market, so I’m opening my studio for sessions then too!
If you’ve never made a mosaic before, you can make one of my easy, small projects ($20-30) with a brief tutorial. If you have experience and want to bring your project to work on with my guidance and access to my tools, drop in for $15/session, or prepay and get 4 sessions for $40.
